With this portrait I wanted to have them approx. in scale, I've used a reference image to do so - don't expect 100% accuracy on that ;)

The various antennas, probes and booms are now fully deployed on the ESA Jupiter Icy Moons Explorer (JUICE) spacecraft, 6 weeks after launch.
This week, the 4 Langmuir Probes and 3 antennas of the Radio & Plasma Wave Investigation (RPWI) were successfully deployed.
Most instruments have been checked out, including the JANUS camera/imager which took a sequence of 7 test images of a star field centered around eta Cyg in the Cygnus constellation.

The JANUS camera onboard the JUICE spacecraft is certainly more capable than Juno's JunoCam in terms of detector size, aperture size and resolution; it is comparable to the imager on Galileo in resolution. See table below.
JANUS = Jovis, Amorum ac Natorum Undique Scrutator, Latin for "comprehensive observation of Jupiter, his love affairs and descendants." 😀

Anyone reading Kim Stanley Robinson's "Mars Trilogy" or any part of it quickly realizes that while the novels are full of technical details, there are very few maps and those that exist are very coarse.
Here are some maps I made while reading the books several years ago, showing cities, places and plot info. The background is a USGS Topographical Map from Wikipedia: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/4/48/USGS-PlanetMars-TopographicalMap.png
Corrections and new locations will be posted to this thread.

Localization of the first trip to the North Pole in #KimStanleyRobinson's #RedMars, with a stop at Chasma Boreale, where an Ice Miner was dropped by air at coordinates 41 W, 83 N to extract water for use in Underhill.
The first map is a polar projection showing the trip from Underhill to the North Pole.
The second map is a detail of the approach to the pole, drawn on an #ESA #MarsExpress image processed by @[email protected] , from here: https://mastodon.social/@[email protected]/110327396095633780
