Hello, I'm an open source software engineer in my late 30s living in #Seoul, #Korea, and an avid advocate of #FLOSS and the #fediverse. I'm the creator of @[email protected], an #ActivityPub server framework in #TypeScript, @[email protected], an ActivityPub-enabled microblogging software for single users, and @[email protected], a simple ActivityPub bot framework. I'm also very interested in East Asian languages (so-called #CJK) and #Unicode. Feel free to talk to me in #English, #Korean (#한국어), or #Japanese (#日本語), or even in Literary Chinese (#文言文, #漢文)! #introduction

We can't believe we need to say this, but… your files are yours. The #Inkscape project will never peek at your files, and what's yours stays on your computer. #floss #ArtWithOpenSource #freesoftware

#introduction: Independent #OpenSource #FLOSS contributor for 19+ years. I break apps & report bugs everywhere (mostly for + @[email protected] + @[email protected] + @[email protected]). I co-maintain @[email protected] & #GNOME Calendar. I'll post updates on what I'm doing, incl. bug reports that might be of interest to #Linux desktop users. I also run a marketing firm in #Montreal, #Canada, & a #photography studio. I used to do #illustration #art as a hobby, as you can see in this WIP #artwork 👇🏼 Hi #MastoArt !

So, my #FLOSS todo list for the next days: - get that #Recoll plugin for #Synapse working again - write that script to make @[email protected] use @[email protected] and @[email protected] to generate a PDF booklet - make that #iBook G4 running again and set up an usable PIM suite using #vdirsyncer, #khal, #khard and #mutt. If I'm somewhat recreated by that time I'm gonna restart coding on #ObjGTK. But after Christmas I'm really too exhausted to get into deep work too soon. 🤔 🤷‍♂️

As an #introduction for this account I'm posting a screenshot of my iBook G4 running #Debian #PPC. This is not simple nostalgia (of course as well), but also shows what kind of software I favour: Sustainable, simple, fast, light, portable and well designed #FLOSS software and small tech (digital minimalism). This is why I'm a supporter of @[email protected], @[email protected] and software like @ObjFW and @[email protected]. I've done web development for a long time, I'm fine with #PHP, but I really avoid anything #Node.js. 😜
