Hello, I'm Holland. New to Mastodon. I'm a composer/pianist who writes fantasy-inspired orchestral and piano music. I share my songs on YouTube and release albums every now and then on streaming platforms. Sometimes, I share scores in the form of videos on my YouTube channel so you can follow along with the music if you enjoy that sort of thing. I'm currently writing the soundtrack for a video game and would like to eventually move into the world of animated film scoring (I love animation!). I'll keep this post short and share one of my songs below. I hope that you enjoy listening to my music, and that it carries you away to far-off worlds. Thank you :) 🎵Full song on my YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WW_t51kPyNI --------- #composer #gamedev #gamemusic #VGM #classicalmusic #musician #fantasy #fantasymusic #videogamemusic #animation #animationmusic #gameaudio #orchestra #music #musicproduction #DAW #vst #cinematicstudio #cinematic #filmscore #filmmusic #film #rpg #rpgmusic #jrpg #jrpgmusic

I keep meaning to post more of my artwork here, will gradually be adding some of my faves in the next few weeks just so folks here can see what my deal is. Here's a poster I made in 2020 for Greta Gerwig's Little Women, digitally illustrated using a watercolor brush effect. This was a mother's day gift for my mom, who worked in publishing her whole career before retiring a few years ago #art #mastoart #film #movieposter #illustration #digitalart

I realized I don't have a nice pinned #introduction post, so let's do that. (How many hashtags I can squeeze in?) I'm an associate prof of #Chinese #Language and #Literature at #WashingtonCollege in #Chestertown, MD in the US. I mainly work on #Translation, #Narrative, and #Satire. Because I'm at a #SLAC, I teach just about everything, including #film, #志怪 #Strange, and hopefully starting next year, a class in Narrative in #VideoGames I'll post #politics and #sports and #goofy stuff.
