So #Mastodon needed a good #introduction toot to help find me #friends here. By profession, I am a computer #programmer. I prefer #linux over any other #system software. My first #distribution was #Ubuntu :ubuntu: but for a few or more reasons I have settled with #Fedora :fedora: On top of that I have been using #Gnome as my main #desktop #environment since 2006. I highly admire Al-Khwarizmi and Al-Kindi for their contributions to modern #science and #technology.

Now what about you?

Folks, need help. I’m a lightroom refugee and ever since moving to Linux, I have done nothing with my photos. My main use of Lightroom was the RAW processing and the catalog While I can wait for the editing/processing stuff, the browsing folders to get at a photo, is getting to me. Can Digikam or Shotwell handle large collections of photos? Does it work well for a serious amateur photographer, who has a large volume of photos in various RAW formats? I think the lack of a good screenshot utility is what's going to get me to leave #Gnome behind. The default one is not great, and none of the others that work on Wayland work for me on Gnome. Get the same errors with grim/slurp and flameshot.

Dear #Gnome devs,

Please, for the love of all that is good and holy in this world, do something about your rounded corners. Just choose a radius and make them all the same. Instead, you have some that are just square. some that have one radius and some that have another.

Sincerely,

Everyone.

Is there a way in #Gnome to make the right Super (aka "Windows") key behave like the left one? It would be nice to be able to lock the screen with one hand. Besides, I have zero idea what the "right Super" is even supposed to do on Gnome, because it doesn't obviously do anything except not act like a Super key.

So, update. This might not be a #Gnome problem at all. Rather it seems that the right Super key is just dead on this #DasKeyboard Pro 6. I installed Input Remapper and couldn't get anything from record, so I did libinput debug-events and also got nothing at all when I pressed it. How weird.
