@[email protected] You should also check out fedibuzz relays, if you haven't already.
Both #FediFetcher and fedibuzz make single user instances work.
You can for example follow @tag-homelab@relay.fedi.buzz to get remote #homelab posts to your instance.

Came across #fedifetcher and now my single user #SelfHosted #Mastodon timeline is full of replies.
How did it take me so long to find this? 🤷♂️

New blog post!
This time I talk how I set up WireGuard and PiHole to create an tracking and advertisement blocking solution that works wherever I go.
I can now block ads on my smartphone when using any cellular or Wi-Fi network, wherever I go.
And the results are wild, there is so much dirty traffic coming from my smartphone.
Take a look and leave some feedback :)

What do you run on your homelab? How about CCTV?
You can use Viseron, a Network Video Recorder, to set up such a system with Fedora Server and Kubernetes. Might be a cool project to try! 🤔

【ISOs Explained + four programs to make Linux boot media】
Linux boot media need not be tricky! In today's episode, I'll talk about four ways to flash an ISO from Windows (and other systems too).
I know a lot of you are switching to Linux because of Microsoft's recent... ideas? I'll call them "ideas".
So, here we'll talk about the following ways to flash ISOs:
- BalenaEtcher: https://etcher.balena.io/
- Raspberry Pi Imager: https://www.raspberrypi.com/software/
- Fedora Media Writer (you can just download this when you go to download Fedora, but here's the GitHub): https://github.com/FedoraQt/MediaWriter
- Rufus: https://rufus.ie/
And I referenced the following four reasonably-beginner-friendly distros (in no particular order):
- Linux Mint: https://linuxmint.com/
- Ubuntu: https://ubuntu.com
- Fedora: https://fedoraproject.org/
- Pop!_OS: https://pop.system76.com/
And here's the ISO standard in case you're curious: https://ecma-international.org/publications-and-standards/standards/ecma-119/
Lastly, want to support my channel and help me get these videos out faster? Here's three ways!

I suppose I should post something introductory now that I'm on my own instance.
I'm a Linux lady who used to work in COBOL development and assorted legacy systems management gigs.
Nowadays I make videos and occasional blog posts about Linux and vintage/retro tech. Entirely supported by viewers like you (no sponsors as of writing). Links in bio.
Are we still doing hashtags?

Hey, all you #homelab people. Ever wanted to setup an IRC bot? If so, I'm a fan of #Cardinal by @[email protected]!
If you're a #Fedora or #CentOS person, it's what powers baconbot in the social channels on Libera.
It's also very simple to extend with a bit of #Python.

Over the past three days, I've been on a deep dive learning #Hugo and how to create a #StaticSite, the basics of #Git and #GitHub.
It's so cool whenever I got things to work after every error I encountered! It was a nice challange for sure.
I also received my #raspberrypi 4B 8GB last week. Just in time to share my new-found knowledge tidbits on my latest Hugo blog!

Time for a proper #introduction!
I'm an open-source enthusiast and self-hosting masochist. Initially a #JavaScript developer, still doing all things web, big #WebAssembly fan, recovering conference addict. I am a #DevRel focusing on #DevEx & OSS communities in particular. Also a staunch advocate of flexible, async remote work.
I co-founded #RustFest (that really needs a proper fediverse presence, until then, check out @[email protected]) with @[email protected] & @[email protected]
Frequently have Opinions™ and post about #conferences, especially online, #remoteWork, my #homelab & #selfhosting hobby (currently rebuilding, follow along at #homelabNG )

Hey #homelab #Kubernetes people, if you haven't discovered @[email protected] yet, you should probably go deploy that right now.
My personal suggestion is to deploy it via helm with --set installCRDs=true so the install and upgrades are a simple one-shot deal.
