Big news for #raspberrypi users! Raspberry Pi 5 now has upstream #UBoot support, thanks to #SUSE’s Hardware Enablement team. Boot #openSUSE Tumbleweed or #MicroOS with ease; once PCIe support lands, #USB boot will just work. https://news.opensuse.org/2025/11/04/raspberrypi5-opensuse/

The new #opensuse Tumbleweed logo is crap.

Anyone know of a way to display a count of how many updates are available on #opensuse?

#2YearLinuxChallenge check in. Haven't done one here in a bit. #openSUSE is still awesome. I'm back on xorg and loving every second of it.

@[email protected] I also hate Windows too, but sometimes I use it for 3D stuff like VRoid which doesn't support Linux. But in outside that, I prefer use #openSUSE #Tumbleweed

Dear #openSUSE why is openbox a hard dependency for lxappearance?

My thoughts on the #openSUSE rebrand are thus: First, please, guys, don't got with geeko. That's a dumb name. Second, if #SUSE is really pushing this, then they should take their ass off the board. They don't get a say if they really want to divorce the two projects this way. For years, the board has basically been controlled by SUSE. If the rebrand happens, that should stop.

Often times the patterns in #openSUSE make no sense at all. For example, the file-server pattern that they tell you to use to install samba....doesn't include samba.

What?

1 Year. #opensuse #2YearLinuxChallenge

@[email protected] You should show up with #openSUSE on your computer, show them what a real distro looks like.

So this was the result of my day of ricing. Also, just a few days from 1 year. #2YearLinuxChallenge #openSUSE

For those of you who disabled Packman to get around the MESA bug this past week on #openSUSE, it is now safe to re-enable it. You may or may not need to reinstall codecs. Also, make sure you --allow-vendor-change on zypper dup.

For those of you who have been waiting to do an update on #openSUSE, you can now do so. HOWEVER, make sure you disable the PACKMAN repo. If you don't, you'll still get the messed up version of MESA

🚀 Leap 15.6 is out! 🌟 Perfect for pros & orgs. #SUSE #Leap #Linux #openSUSE https://news.opensuse.org/2024/06/12/leap-unveils-choices-for-users/

Been a bit, but here's a #2YearLinuxChallenge Check in. Another month and I will be at an entire year on #openSUSE. Still loving it, and have no real plans to leave. Though at the 2 year mark, I may check out Aeon, or whatever they're calling it.
