🗺️ This is for everyone who has a #government that does horrible things in their name, who voted for a campaign promise but got nothing or the opposite, who has been disappointed repeatedly, who feels unheard, or who never even got a chance to vote! 🖼️ If you can relate, feel free to use this as your profile image so that others like us can see they are not alone, and those affected by our countries #politics see we disagree! Apropos: kommt vielleicht jetzt mal wer dazu, oder bleibt ihr doch auf dem Sofa und empört euch?

Auch solidarische Menschen, die nicht armutsbetroffen sind, sind willkommen. Wenn sie denn kommen.

Big rally and march at the state capitol in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, yesterday to protest legislation attacking trans youth on various fronts, including restrictions on gender-affirming care and discussions of gender identity and sexuality in schools. Organized by New Orleans–based Real Name Campaign. I'm a political scientist whose current work focuses on protest activity in the U.S. I'm here to follow indie journos and others who report on those events, and to find and share relevant work by scholars and practitioners. I also have a long-standing research interest in democracy that now, sadly, intersects with that work on U.S. protests. And I'm antifascist. #protest #democracy #journalism #introduction
