New #introduction: my name is Scott and I'm from #Chicago. I identify as #trans, #nonbinary, and #agender. I don't have a strong relationship with pronouns and I tell people to use ones that will confuse the least amount of people in the room. I also practice #polyamory and try to avoid relationship hierarchy. I'm an #SRE and #DevOps engineer by trade. Most of my work today involves #kubernetes. Other tags I'm into: #hamradio #boardgames #backpacking #boating #camping #motorcycle #lgbtq

Since a #Introduction is de rigueur. I am a free software enthusiast, starting contributing to emacs in early 90s, and becoming a #Debian developer in '96. I was a charter member of the tech ctte, served as secretary before fading gently away q decade ago. I have worked for DEC, DARPA, three letter agencies, Amazon, and now Google. I like software development, and am a #SRE. My new favorite language is no #rust .

I read. A lot. Good reads says 149 books/year).

I guess I should do an #introduction I do #SoftwareEngineering, specifically #DevOps, but #sre and #PlatformEngineering are close enough. I love C# #dotnet. I can tolerate #Javascript. I'm interested in #golang. I'm into #observability and #reliability. I'm really into the #SocioTechnical nature of the systems we build. I'm a #trans #lesbian. I like #photography, #ttrpg, and factory/city builder and 4X games. I also like #StarWars and #StarTrek and various other nerd stuff. #acab
