We just broke my wife's 11 year #Samsung streak, when she broke her long #Apple ecosystem streak. She has much more brave loyalty than I do, but the S23 she got last year has been terrible - not as a camera or as an alarm clock but as a phone. It's constantly roaming when roaming is disabled and chews through her monthly data in days even with being on wifi and getting a replacement SIM. My ASUS is on the same network with none of these problems. She's getting a Pixel 8 Pro. #Android

The value proposition of paying hundreds more for a flagship #Samsung phone has ebbed year after year of charging more for less. The camera quality isn't demonstrably better than a Pixel or Zenfone to justify the price differences, especially since emphasis has been on AI software which is a gimmick others have, too (and with Asus, it's done locally on the phone). I'm not against owning another Samsung, but the current offerings no longer appeal to me. We're a very long way away from the S4.

My wife's #Samsung S23 has had all sorts of weird problems, like burning through all of her data and keeps roaming even when roaming is turned off while we very much haven't left the country. My #Asus phone on the same network hasn't had any of these issues. I might get a #Pixel for her next time. It's been similarly boring in the right places for me and has the smaller size that she prefers. #Android
