I hear today is #WorldSnakeDay I don't have much snake art, despite loving snakes quite a lot. They are beautiful animals, deserving of our appreciation and respect. This is a Kirtland's snake, a small Midwestern snake endangered or threatened (like many snakes) across most of its range. #snake #snakes #reptile #art

This is always a hard day - it's difficult to remain positive, as serpents always fall victim to fear, ignorance, and perhaps worst of all, indifference. Like many other kinds, this Kui Buri Pitviper (Trimeresurus kuiburi) from southern Thailand will never generate shareholder value, will always lose out to human 'progress', and will rarely be considered with any context deeper than 'cool snake, bro' on social platforms. #WorldSnakeDay #herps #nature

Viperidae are such a successful group of snakes, found across a big chunk of the planet and I am here for it. The beautiful Trimeresurus venustus from southern Thailand. #WorldSnakeDay #snakes #nature #naturephotography
