2 days of running #OpenBSD as a daily driver has been smooth as silk. I fixed the touchpad issue on my thinkpad and getting a linux VM setup for my web dev build and deploys was way easier than FreeBSD. I am absolutely loving this operating system. it's solid, doesn't eat resources, and is simply a joy to use. I'm now seriously considering nuking my nixos partition and just putting debian or bazzite on it for only gaming. #linux #BSD

Following my #NetBSD 10.1 journey where my #ThinkPad T470s wake up from S3 suspend with dead keyboard and touchpad yet working WiFi, today I tried with the lastest 11.0 snapshot (20251220). All the same as before, unresponsive keyboard and touchpad, with working WiFi. However when I tried with a USB connected keyboard in default #CTWM session, the keyboard seemed to work after a while. At the same time, WiFi got disconnected so I lost ssh access and had to use power button for hard shutdown. I think I will probably end my NetBSD journey at this point. #FOSS #Unix #BSD #RunBSD

I noticed that #XLibre got built in #FreeBSD #ports so I thought why not try it in a VM. Turns out it is just list you would do install xorg, a few stantard #pkg commands and it just runs ! #RunBSD #BSD #FOSS #Unix

Soooo I tried #ghostbsd because I hear all these amazing things about #bsd and I don't get it. Compared to #linux, it feels incredibly underwhelming.

I can appreciate the tight monolithic approach to development, the security and stability.. but at the extreme cost of usability.

What am I missing?
