A selection of photos of periodical cicadas from this year's 17 year brood emergence. What an awesome spectacle.

検索
Painting gold embellishments onto a few limited edition Magicicada prints so they’re ready for next weekend’s art festival. These are pretty labor intensive so I’m only making a small number.
I currently have a couple listed in my shop, and I also have small prints available.

The periodical cicadas have mostly stopped screaming here for another 17 years. 😢
I have some hand-embellished large prints to celebrate their emergence, as well as stickers and small prints, if you, too, miss our screamy friends! 🙂

Magicicada Tarot
Mixed media piece celebrating periodical cicadas, Brood XIII, and cycles of transformation.
Death (XIII) can be interpreted as representing change and transformation, much as these cicadas emerge, transform, and fuel the cycle of life.
Limited edition prints available on my shop, hand embellished with gold paint.
