Fellow #Hexchat #IRC users. Where are y'all moving to? Is there a fork? https://hexchat.github.io/news/2.16.2.html

@[email protected] I noticed that their repo is just two shy of having 100 stars, so hit that star button while you're checking it out! #opensource #Cardinal #IRC

Hey, all you #homelab people. Ever wanted to setup an IRC bot? If so, I'm a fan of #Cardinal by @[email protected]! If you're a #Fedora or #CentOS person, it's what powers baconbot in the social channels on Libera. It's also very simple to extend with a bit of #Python. https://github.com/johnmaguire/Cardinal https://github.com/vwbusguy/cardinal-plugin-bacon #IRC #opensource #chatops

TIL that #Twitch chat is powered by #IRC and it's possible to connect via IRC clients. #chat

Things I miss since the #Matrix / #Libera #IRC bridge went down:

* Being able to connect as the same IRC user from multiple devices as once
* Not having to care if a room was primarily on Libera or Matrix
* Having to now administer two versions of the same rooms at the same time
* Seeing users that used to regularly interact no longer do so because some are on Matrix and the other on Libera
* IRC bots no longer working in Matrix channels
