2 days of running #OpenBSD as a daily driver has been smooth as silk. I fixed the touchpad issue on my thinkpad and getting a linux VM setup for my web dev build and deploys was way easier than FreeBSD. I am absolutely loving this operating system. it's solid, doesn't eat resources, and is simply a joy to use. I'm now seriously considering nuking my nixos partition and just putting debian or bazzite on it for only gaming. #linux #BSD

Any #Plan9 or #9front expert on fedi? I heard a lot about it and few days ago when I spotted a new release of the [9front](http://9front.org/releases/2026/08/02/0/) and there was #qcow2 #QEMU images, I started to look at it. However I never get the #rio #GUI session to work. I am starting the #VM by: qemu-system-x86_64 \<br> -machine q35 -enable-kvm \<br> -m 2g -cpu host \<br> -vga std \<br> -drive "media=disk,if=virtio,file=$HOME/Downloads/9front-11952.amd64.qcow2" \<br> -netdev user,id=vioif0,hostfwd=tcp::5699-:22 \<br> -device virtio-net-pci,netdev=vioif0 \<br> -no-reboot \<br> -daemonize<br>my host system is #Debian #Linux running on #X11. The error message after login with glenda was not very informative though: hjfs: fs is /dev/sd00/fs<br><br>init: starting /bin/rc<br>bind: <a href="https://snac.bsd.cafe?t=i" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#i</a>: no frame buffer<br>rio: cannot open display: initdisplay: /dev/draw/new: file does not exist: '/dev/draw'<br>init: rc exit status: rc 217: rio 326: display open<br>init: starting /bin/rc<br>#Unix #FOSS #AskFedi #SDF

A daily #Linux command from #LinuxLexiconBot:

opensc-explorer (1) - generic interactive utility for accessing smart card and similar security token functions

I am a human, but my little bot posts a random Linux command daily. If you don't want to see it you can mute the LinuxLexiconBot hashtag.

Happy hacking!
