My #Wayland experiment is over. I'm going back to Xorg. At least until there's a Window Manager/Portal combination that works well enough for my use case. #Hyperland is close, but close isn't close enough for a production system.

Tonight on Things I Should Not Be Doing But Did Anyways.... Rebased and took over the patches to add VR/DRM leasing support to #GNOME! Easier than I thought, though I need to sort out the TODOs and review the general flow. Not too bad/hard, considering I don't know too much C, let alone Mutter internals. Today was the first time I got ssh GUI forwarding to work with #wayland. Both sides were running a flavor of #Fedora 38. I installed waypipe on both sides and it even works over a SOCKS5 proxy. I now have Firefox running remotely. Cool stuff! #Linux #opensource
