Writing and reading are not about mass-produced stories that can be consumed like a cheap hamburger or used like a piece of particleboard furniture. A novel, a poem, a nonfiction book--whatever--is a shared experience.
The author, even if they are a ghost writer, is putting a piece of their soul into the work, experiencing it as they write it, and you absorb it into your own soul / mind / spirit, when you read.
The act of writing itself is a form of spiritualism, of meditation.
That is why AI will never replace the written word of human beings. Because writing is creation, writing is reading, and writing is sacred.
AI has no soul. It is a literal automaton. It doesn't matter. It is empty. I am not afraid of it, but I will not use it in my writing, or my writing too will become empty, which I refuse to allow.
